Two things
being built.
Neither is finished. Here is what each one is for, what works today, and what plainly does not. No dates, because we do not have dates — and a date here would be the only thing anybody remembered from this page.
Alpine
Being built in the open. Some of it works today.
Small public apps that each do one thing, with no account between you and them.
Who it is forAnybody. Nothing to join, nothing to pay, nothing that needs explaining first.
- Boards you can read without signing in
- Search across everything public
- Profiles at a stable address
- Posting from a phone is rough
- No way to follow anything yet
- Nothing is moderated at scale
Crew
Early. The shape is right; the edges are not.
A place for the ten people you actually have, rather than the thousand you could reach.
Who it is forA team, a family, a band — any group small enough that everybody knows everybody.
- One crew, ten people, no hierarchy
- A shared voyage everyone can see
- Nothing is public by default
- No invitations — you are added by hand
- Nothing is kept once a crew is closed
- Only one crew per person
Both are usable now if you do not mind the edges. Nothing here needs an account, and nothing you do in either is kept for any purpose but showing it back to you.
